Angelica Panganiban (born Angelica Panganiban) is an Filipino American actress, model TV host, and comedian. Panganiban, who is called "the the new queen of drama" by several media publications in the Philippines, is one of the most popular and well-known actresses. Angelica Hale, then 4 years old, became extremely sick in 2012 as a result of an infection caused by strep bacteria. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston in Atlanta, where she received treatment for her life-saving illness using ECMO-based life support. The patient became sick, and had kidney failure and organ failure which did not heal. It was her new normal to have not peritoneal but hemolysis. After an hospitalization of 80 days Angelica nearly died after which she began a journey to healing. Angelica was in dialysis for nearly a year until she finally was able to undergo the biggest procedure of her life: a transplant of the kidney. Her mom would be the recipient. Angelica and her mother had the surgery to remove their kidneys successfully on September 13, 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals situated across from one another. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always wanted to be an actress and singer, is still pursuing this dream.
